Research Assistant

Research Assistant in reinforcement learning for its application to disassembly tasks.

We are opening a position for ONE research assistant to work at the Automation Research Team (ART) on:

Reinforcement learning for disassembly tasks by a robotic manipulator

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be a Master or Doctoral course student
  • Applicants must have a written consent from his/her research (thesis) supervisor.
  • Do not fall under (a)-(c) during the employment period.
  1.  Recipients of scholarships that prohibit work at the same time,
  2.  Enrolled in any other research assistant system,
  3.  Employed in other institutions (part-time students employed by companies, universities, etc.) *Except for those whose work is related to research support and/or academia.

 

Salary:

  • ¥1,700 per hour for master students and ¥2,100 per hour for Ph.D students (Up to ¥184,450 per month for master students, and up to ¥227,850 per month for Ph.D. students).

 

Employment duration:

  • From as soon as possible to March 31 of 2025, with possibility of renewal until March 31 of 2027 (contract renewal done per fiscal year).

Working hours:

  • From 4 days and up tp 14 days per month, 7 hours and 45 minutes per day (preferably from 9:00 to 17:45 but can be negociated, lunch break of 1 hour).

 

Holidays:

  • Saturday, Sunday, year ending holidays and Japanese National holidays.

 

Treatment:

  • There is a paid leave system and a commuting allowance system according to AIST’s regulations.
